Booking Procedures & Costs

Q: What can I expect from you?

We pride ourselves on providing a friendly and professional service, all the way from enquiry and booking stage through to the day of your event. From conception to the final show, we will discuss your ideas and requirements with you and provide you with an event entertainment package tailored to your specific needs. Please contact us to find out how we may help you.

Q: How much does it cost?

A: Prices will vary depending on the specific requirements for your event. Typically, we charge a rate per dancer booked plus a flat travel charge. Please contact us with more details about your event and the performance package you require to receive a bespoke, itemised quote.

Q: Where are you based? Do you charge for travel?

A: We are based in London, but can travel anywhere in the UK or internationally. The standard prices for our packages include travel within London (Underground zones 1-4). Events outside London will incur an additional charge for travel, depending on distance, and may also incur an accommodation charge. International events will incur an accommodation charge as well as travel and any relevant visa charges. Please contact us if you need more information on our pricing.

Q: Do I need to pay a deposit?

A: Yes. In order to secure your booking, we require a minimum deposit of £150, or 25% of your total booking cost if this is higher. Note that events booked less than 6 weeks' in advance of the event date need to be paid in full to guarantee your booking, and this payment is non-refundable.

Q: Will I get a refund if I cancel my booking?

A: You will receive a full refund if a cancellation is made more than 8 weeks' before the event date. For cancellations made less than 8 weeks' before the event date, the deposit is non-refundable. Please note that bookings made less than 6 weeks' in advance of the event date need to be paid in full at time of booking and are completely non-refundable.

Q: How far in advance do I need to book?

A: Depending on availability and requirements, we would be happy to take bookings a minimum of 2 weeks' in advance of your event.  However, if you require a more bespoke dance performance, or a performance from one of our specialist dancers, we may need at least 6 weeks' notice in order to ensure we are delivering a professional performance. Please contact us to discuss your requirements and we will be able to advise you accordingly.

Q: Can I pay by credit card?

A: Yes we do accept credit card payments online but please note that all credit card transactions will incur a processing fee of 3.6%. Our preferred method of payment is by direct bank transfer.

Q: I've found another group with cheaper prices than you. Why should I book you?

A: You get what you pay for. Our dancers are trained to the highest standards in their fields so you can guarantee a good quality and professional performance at your event. We also provide a professional, friendly and reliable service from the date of booking through to the event date. You will not be disappointed!

Event Performances

Q: What style of dance do you do?

A: Star Dancers UK are experts in a variety of dance styles and can therefore provide group performances in popular styles such as Bollywood, Bellydance, Hawaiian/Tahitian Hula, Brazilian Samba, Cabaret, Latin styles and Chinese Fanveil. Our unique skillset means that we can also perform Fusion dance styles, fusing almost any combination of dance styles together. Many of our dancers have been professionally trained in different dance styles, so if there is a particular style of dance you have in mind, please contact us to see what we can do for you.

Q: Why do your group performances consist of 3 dancers as a minimum?

A: We believe you need a minimum of 3 dancers to ensure that a group performance has maximum impact in adding glamour to your event. With at least 3 dancers, we can ensure that each dance performance fills the stage and brings a burst of energy through synchronised dance routines, exciting choreography and colourful costumes. However if you have budget restrictions, we can offer a 2 dancer package, which would suit most event spaces.

Q: Why are your dance performances only 5 minutes long?

A: In our experience, we have found that 5 minutes is long enough to captivate an audience at a typical evening dinner event, but not so long that the audience begins to fidget and lose interest. If you prefer a longer performance time, we would recommend splitting these into more appearances, each around 5 minutes long. If you require a dance performance for a different type of event, such as a stage performance or a variety showcase we can cater for this also. Please contact us to discuss your requirements.

Q: Do you include any audience interaction as part of your performances?

A: This can be added on as required. Typically, we could include an interactive session at the end of our last performance to encourage guests on to the dance floor. The interactive session can take place either as a short workshop where guests are taught a few moves, or more informally with dancers staying on the dance floor and encouraging guests to come up and dance. Please contact us to discuss your requirements and we will advise accordingly.

Q: Is it possible to have a mixed group of male and female dancers?

A: Yes, depending on availability.

Q: Can I come to see a performance?

A: Many of our performances are for private events; however if we do have any public performances please feel free to come and watch us! Please contact us for more information on our future performances.

Q: Can I select which dancers I want at my event?

A: You may request which dancers you would like but we cannot guarantee their availability. However, please be assured that all our dancers have professional performance experience and are trained to the highest standards in our group styles and their specialist styles. Our dancers will always conduct themselves professionally and politely and we can guarantee a professional performance at your event.

Q: What do I need to provide for your dancers if they are performing at my event?

A:  Our dancers will need a private room in which they can get changed and prepare for their performance and refreshments. As a minimum, our dancers should be supplied with a free unlimited supply of mineral water and soft drinks, and a hot meal. Whilst the hot meal is negotiable for events of 2 hours' duration or less, mineral water and soft drinks should always be provided. Please see our client terms & conditions for further details.

Q: How much space do your dancers need to perform?

A: This varies depending on the number of dancers booked, however as a minimum we would need a clear performance area of at least 3m x 4m, for maximum comfort of both the dancers and the audience, especially as our dance choreography is often very energy-filled.
